Reasons why qualifying as an architect takes 7 years (minimum)Because it takes that long to…
1. …be brainwashed - erm, I mean educated in everything of import to society;
2. …get used to being poor;
3. …get used to working long hours and doing all-nighters, not being paid;
4. …rack up enough debt so you feel guilty for leaving the noble profession that forced it on you in the first place (but don’t worry - getting on the housing ladder doesn’t apply to you - you can always build your own out of supermarket boxes and soap beside a piece of unused land next to a public loo. At least its an honest expression of materials.);
5. …feel privileged for 2, 3 and 4 and look down your nose at those other poor infidels who prostitute themselves to their work, being reasonably paid and having a life outside their jobs;
6. …understand what on earth an “intervention” really is;
7. …LOSE YOUR NON-ARCHITECTURAL FRIENDS;
8. …learn the lingo;
9. …appreciate the texture of a brick wall;
10. …adjust the parameters of reality to those of your tutors and the journals;
11. …feel godliness;
12. …aspire to be on the high pedestals of the starchitects, which you yourself have built;
13. …get rid of every piece of clothing with a thread of colour in;
14. …take a photograph with no people in;
15. …feel worthy;
16. …see the rainbow of colours in a white wall.

hehehe
really 100% true
